It is giving people an insight into epic kind of poetry and many other poetic elements such as alliteration, metaphor, imagery and more. It is showing the people what is accentual verse and more.

Contrast the Dursleys’ perception of magic with Harry’s perception of magic in this passage.
den301095 [7]

Answer:

The Dursleys' hate everything which is not "normal"; they especially hate Harry and his parents who passed away because of their magical powers and abilities. They are doing their best to hide Harry from people around them because they are ashamed of him and afraid of his powers:

<em>Ever since Harry had come home for the summer holidays, Uncle Vernon had been treating him like a bomb that might go off at any moment, because Harry Potter wasn’t a normal boy. </em>

They do not consider him normal and they are trying to eradicate his magical powers by taking away his school books and another magical stuff from him and locking his owl into the cage without letting her out. They cannot stand the fact that Harry is a wizard, especially Harry's aunt, Petunia, who hated her own sister (Harry's mother) because she was a witch:

<em>As a matter of fact, he was as not normal as it is possible to be. Harry Potter was a wizard. </em>

When it comes to Harry, he loves magic and he misses Hogwarts, his friends, his classes, his quidditch trainings, etc. and his greatest wish is to go back to school and escape from the Dursleys', as they cannot understand his world:

<em />

<em>He missed Hogwarts so much it was like having a constant stomachache. He missed the castle, with its secret passageways and ghosts, his classes, the mail arriving by owl, eating banquets in the Great Hall, sleeping in his four-poster bed in the tower dormitory, visiting the gamekeeper, Hagrid, in his cabin next to the Forbidden Forest in the grounds, and especially, Quidditch, the most popular sport in the wizarding world. </em>

Harry cannot imagine his life without magic anymore, as it is the heritage he received from his parents and he feels proud because of the fact that he is a wizard.

How is 1st person perspective used in "Rules of the Game"by Amy Tan
navik [9.2K]

Explanation:

The first story, Rules of the Game by Amy Tan, has a first person point of view, but Tan also allows readers to view the daughter and mother at the same time. Just like other first person stories, the protagonist Waverly Jong is the narrator who tells us the story. As I read through the story, I am immersed into the story, which is one of the strengths of first person point of view. From the story,

It is very obvious. If the story was told using a different point of view, it will be changed drastically. For example, Waverly’s point of view represents the symbolism of “The art of invisible strength”, which means self control. If the story has a different point of view, the meaning of self control will become useless. And in the perspective of characterization, the point of view is also important. Since we see the story through Waverly’s eyes, we know what Waverly judges and thinks about the other characters, and what Waverly thinks about herself. She believes her accomplishment is based on her talent in chess, which leads to the climax rising action of Waverly running away. We see how Waverly was irritated by her mother, and again, if the story is not told by Waverly, we would not be able to understand that she did not mean to hurt her mother with the words of “Why do you have to use me to show off? If you want to show off, then why don’t you learn to play chess?” Or if the story is told in a third person point of view, like the old woman Waverly knocked into in the instance, we probably see a rude and unreasonable young girl who argues with her mother in the middle of a street.

Shkiper50 [21]
In "Birth of a National Park" the two roles superintendent's played were to provide effective consistent management and information to the visitors of the park. The article explains how the Army was able to guard the borders of the park and protect the wildlife, but "they could not fully satisfy the visitor's desire for knowledge." This is one of the reasons the superintendent's position was created. Also, the superintendent position was created to manage the parks and the park rangers. Albright, the first superintendent, "<span>established a management framework that guided administration of Yellowstone for decades." The creation of the superintendent position created a management system for the parks as well as a system for educating visitors.</span>
