Answer:

Phillis Wheatley choose to write like this because:

1. Poems written in iambic pentameter expresses decorum and grandeur of the language.

2. Each couplet expresses a complete thought.

3. There is an "explosion" good rhyming couplets bring. It brings both the rhyme and the idea into a quick close in two lines.

Explanation:

Some of the benefits are:

1. This form of writing enabled Wheatley to purposefully advocate her freedom.

2. It was a tool to deliver safely on the subject matter for a slave poet in a dominantly white society.

3. Wheatley utilizes satire to force an acknowledgement of equality in the eyes of God by her keepers.

4. It makes poems and poets become serious and seriously accepted by readers.

The one disadvantage I discovered is that it seems somehow cumbersome to understand by laymen.

Although the poems, "The Lamb" and "The Tyger," address the same concept, the tone is different in each.
denis-greek [22]

"The Lamb" is a poem written by William Blake published in "Songs of Innocence" in 1776. It is the counterpart to another Blake's poem called "The Tyger" which was also published in "Songs of Innocence".

In the first stanzas of "The Lamb", the poem has a naive and innocent tone, with the kid asking the questions with belief and hope that they are going to be answered. The tone of the poem is a gentle one in the first stanzas and a proud one in the second half of the poem, relating to the theme of purity and Christianity and how the child is confident in his believes.

"The Tyger" is the opposite of "The Lamb" when it comes to meaning and tone. It's tone is aggressive, dark, negative and overall serious to talk not only about the beast that the tyger is, but also as a contrast to the purity that the lamb represents, the tyger represents the other side of the same coin, the darkness and primal ferocity that lies in everything.

MakcuM [25]

Explanation:

Dear Bestie

I hope you have been doing well. It's raining cats and dogs here and I hate it. Also how has school been any new news.

My new school is not so good.

I am surprised I have survived this long. The teachers don't help when it comes to school work , they just tell you what work to do and do t even explain the work. The school is very dirty and only 1 toilet of 5 work. The teachers do not care about what the students do they just watch.

There have already been 5 fights in a week. Many children smoke and it smells really bad .My former school was better . I wish I could go back

I hope I can handle it .Lots of boys are really mean. They bully girls a lot , they have not come to me yet but they have looked at me and I'm really scared .

Kind regards
