First you turn both fractions into improper fractions, (-23/20-47/20) then yousubtract the numerator(the top of the fraction) -23-47=-70--> -70/20=7/2. Hope i helped;)

40. Resuelve la siguiente operación.
Naddik [55]

Option B is correct. The required expression on expansion of 20х-[2х -(х+2)-(6-x 2 )-(28 +x+x2]  is 20x + 36

Expressions are function that does not include "equal" sign

Given the expression

20х-[2х -(х+2)-(6-x² )-(28 +x+x2]

Expand and collect the like terms

= 20х-[2х -х-2-6+x² -28 - x - x²]

= 20x - [x - 8 + x²  - 28 - x - x² ]

x and x² cancels out from the expression to have

= 20x - [- 8 - 28]

= 20x -(-36)

= 20x + 36

Hence the required expression on expansion is 20x + 36

Of all the students applying for undergraduate studies, 13% applied to Honors college. Consider a randomly selected sample of 15
svet-max [94.6K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that X no of students applying for Honors college is binomial with n =1500 and p = 0.13

a) Mean = E(x) = np = 1500(0.13)\\= 195

b) Variance= npq =195(0.87)\\= 169.65

Std dev =13.025

c) Var = 169.65

d) P(X<160)

=0.00261

e) P(X>200) = 1-F(200)=0.3336

P(X=r) = 1500Cr (0.13)^r (0.87)^{155-r}

is the formula used.

Of the 58 employees in a firm, 8 are considered support staff, and 7 of the employees have more than five years of experience. A
polet [3.4K]

Using statistical concepts, it is found that the number of outcomes that are possible for the complement of the union of Events J and K is of 43.

<h3>What is the union of events J and K?</h3>

It means that at least one of event J or event K is true, hence, it is composed by employees that are either considered support staff(less than 5 years of experience) or employees that have more than five years of experience, combining a total of 7 + 8 = 15 employees.

<h3>What is the complement?</h3>

The total number of outcomes of the union of J and K, plus the complement, add to the total number of 58, hence:

15 + x = 58

x = 43.

The number of outcomes that are possible for the complement of the union of Events J and K is of 43.
