Wright Mills in his 1956 book, The Power Elite, seeks to explain the power elite as individuals with the greatest power and who control the most powerful organizations. Here Mills further clarifies that these individuals hold the economic, military and political power of the world and their decisions or non decisions are mightily impactful on the underlying population. According to him, these individuals don't only exert power on the American population but on the world at large.
