Jane Eyre had run away from Thornfield when she met the siblings Mary, Diana, and St. John. As Jane was liviing in the street without money, the siblings took her to their manor, Marsh End and Moor House. St John , who was a clerygman , got a teaching job for Jane in a school in Morton. St John was seduced by a beautiful woman, Rosamond Oliver. He shared this with Jane, who told him to marry her. St John refused to do so because of his religious plans: to become a misssionary. However, when he leanrt that Rosamond was marrying another man, he got disappointed. Then, Jane was forced to reveal who she really was because St John had important news. St John had always been suspicious of Jane's real identity. Once, he managed to get Jane's signature and with this Jane's heritage condition. An uncle of hers had died and left her a fortune. Yet, the uncle was not only hers but the siblings'. Jane shared the fortune with them. While Jane was enjoying her new family and life, St John proposed her. He wanted her to join him in in his missionary work. Jane was about to accept when "Rochester's voice" stopped her.
