You'll have to convert the equation from x-int to standard form (ax² + by + c), and then convert it to vertex form (y = a(x - h)² + k)

Andre owns a computer backup service. He charges his customers $2.50 for each backup CD. His expenses include $875 for the CD re
alukav5142 [94]

Answer:

p =2.15n - 875

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

CD_s= n

Charges = 2.50 per CD

Expenses

E_1 = 875

E_2 = 0.35 per CD

Required

The profit (p)

First, calculate the total income on n CDs

Total = Charges * n

Total = 2.50 * n

Total = 2.50n

Next, the expenses on n CDs

Expenses = E_1 + E_2 * n

Expenses = 875 + 0.35 * n

Expenses = 875 + 0.35n

The profit (p) is:

p = Total - Expenses

p =2.50n - (875 + 0.35n)

Open bracket

p =2.50n - 875 - 0.35n

Collect like terms

p =2.50n - 0.35n - 875

p =2.15n - 875

write a short note to a friend explaining when to reverse the inequality when you are solving an inequality
Liula [17]
You reverse the inequality when you divide both sides by a negative number.
example:
-5x>45 (you divide both sides here by -5 to get the value of x)
answer:
x<9 (notice inequality has been has been reversed)

Compare the difference between an independent event and a dependent event.
pshichka [43]

⚠ANSWER⚠

Dependent event is when two events are dependent events, one event influences the probability of another event whereas independent event has no effect on the probability of another event occurring.

↪DEPENDENT EVENT

When two events are dependent events, one event influences the probability of another event. A dependent event is an event that relies on another event to happen first. Dependent events in probability are no different from dependent events in real life. If you want to attend a concert, it might depend on whether you get overtime at work. if you want to visit family out of the country next month, it depends on whether or not you can get a passport in time. More formally, we say that when two events are dependent, the occurrence of one event influences the probability of another event.

Simple examples of dependent events

 1. Robbing a bank and going to jail.
 2. Not paying your power bill on time and having your power cut off.
 3. Boarding a plane first and finding a good seat.
 4. Parking illegally and getting a parking ticket.

↪INDEPENDENT EVENT

An independent event is an event that has no connection to another event’s chances of happening (or not happening). In other words, the event has no effect on the probability of another event occurring. Independent events in probability are no different from independent events in real life. Where you work has no effect on what color car you drive. Buying a lottery ticket has no effect on having a child with blue eyes.

When two events are independent, one event does not influence the probability of another event.

Simple examples of independent events

 1. Owning a dog and growing your own herb garden.
 2. Paying off your mortgage early and owning a Chevy Cavalier.
 3. Winning the lottery and running out of milk.
 4. Buying a lottery ticket and finding a penny on the floor.
