Answer:

A) B, C, Na, AI, K

Explanation:

This is because from the periodic table, the atomic size of each element increases as we go along the periodic table.

The atomic numbers of the elements are B = 5, C = 6 , Na = 11, Al = 13 and K = 19.

The electronic configuration of each element is given as follows

B = 2, 3; C = 2, 4; Na = 2, 8, 1; Al = 2, 8, 3 and K = 2, 8, 8, 1

Since the atomic numbers increase from left to right as we go along the periodic table, their atomic sizes also increase.

Also, from their electronic configurations, Boron (B)and Carbon (C) only have electrons on the K and L shell. Sodium (Na) and Aluminium (Al) have electrons on the K, L and M shells while Potassium (K) has electrons on the K, L, M and N shells.

So, the larger the electronic configuration, the larger the atomic radius and thus atomic size.

So, they increase in the order B, C, Na, Al, K

How are prefixes used to name compounds
Dennis_Churaev [7]

However, simple covalent compounds are generally named by using prefixes to indicate how many atoms of each element are shown in the formula. Also, the ending of the last (most negative) element is changed to -ide. The prefixes used are mono-, di-, tri-, tetra-, penta-, hexa-, and so forth.

Shaun's doctor has recommended that he consume 200 calories of protein a day. Shaun consumed 176 calories of protein in one day.
evablogger [386]

Answer:  Shaun must consume 6 more g of protein to reach the required amount.

Explanation:

Given : Recommended amount of protein = 200 calories

Now 4 calories = 1 gram of protein

Thus 200 calories = \frac{1}{4}\times 200=50 g of protein.

Calories consumed per day by Shaun = 176 calories

176 calories =  \frac{1}{4}\times 176=44 g of protein.

Thus Shaun need to consume = (50-44) g = 6 of protein to reach the required amount.

Shaun must consume 6 more g of protein to reach the required amount.

a spherical sample has a mass of 2.813g. it has a diameter of 8.0mm. what is the sphere made of (determined by its density as g/
blondinia [14]
To determine the density, we use the following formula:

density= \frac{mass}{volume}

mass= 2.813 grams
volume= ?

we need to first calculate the volume before we can solve for the density. since the question states that the sample has a spherical shape, we can use the volume formula of spheres to find it.

Sphere_{volume}= \frac{4}{3} \pi r^{3}

radius (r)= \frac{diameter}{2}= \frac{8.0 mm}{2} = 4.0 mm

let's plug in the values

V= \frac{4}{3} \pi 4^{3} = 268 mm^3

we need to change the mm^3 to cm^3 using the following conversion

1 cm= 10 mm
268 mm^3 (\frac{1 cm}{10 mm} )^3 = 0.268 cm^3

now we can find the density.

density= 2.813 grams/ 0.268 cm= 10.5 g/cm3
