Answer:

The role of the kidney is to maintain the amount of water in the body.

Explanation:

Two kidneys are present in a human body that help the body to maintain the water level and solute concentration. It is also known as the osmoregulatory organ of the body.

If the water intake is low then the kidney excretes less water to maintain the healthy water level in the body and when there is no scarcity of water and regular intake then the kidney makes enough urine to balance the excess water in the body.

Along with water ion concentration of elements like sodium, potassium and other by-products of drugs and other molecules are also maintained and excreted from the kidney. The retention and excretion of water is also dependent on the signal provided by the body through hormonal action on the kidney.

How much energy do consumers obtain when they eat
Gre4nikov [31]

Answer: it’s 10%

Explanation: Primary consumers only obtain a fraction of the total solar energy—about 10%—captured by the producers they eat. The other 90% is used by the producer for growth, reproduction, and survival, or it is lost as heat. You can probably see where this is going. Primary consumers are eaten by secondary consumers.

What is the definition of biological evolution and what does it have to do with populations?
katrin [286]

Answer:

Definition:

Biological evolution is the process through which the characteristics of organisms change over successive generations, by means of genetic variation and natural selection. It is most commonly defined as "changes in gene frequencies in populations."

A small change in genes could result in a mass epidemic. Such as the colinistists bringing yellow fever over to America.

Explanation:

Biological evolution refers to the cumulative changes that occur in a population over time. These changes are produced at the genetic level as organisms' genes mutate and/or recombine in different ways during reproduction and are passed on to future generations.
