There is linear settlement , depicted from the Asians , specifically ,Indians , Japanese , and Chinese.This is because they find numerous advantages on the coast of the water bodies that surround them.

Explanation:

Coastal areas have a range of advantages as compared to other regions hence the population .

Some of the advantages are ,

They help prevent soil erosion,  

They filter pollutants and provide breeding grounds for a variety of organisms .Eventually  they provide food and shelter for them .Some of this organisms include fish , which is food to human beings .

They also provide recreational grounds for the inhabitants , thus attracting settlement .

Lastly , the economic importance of this is that they provide grounds for , ports , ship movement and raw materials for industries .
