Answer:

Calcium voltage gated ion channels

Explanation:

There are two types of ion channels involved in the neuromuscular junction and end plate potentials: voltage-gated ion channel (responsive to changes in membrane voltage which cause the voltage gated ion channel to open) and ligand-gated ion channel (responsive to certain molecules such as neurotransmitters).

The resting membrane potential of a motor neuron goes from -70mV to -50 with a higher concentration of sodium outside and a higher concentration of potassium inside. <em>When an action potential propagates down a nerve and reaches the axon terminal of the motor neuron, the change in membrane voltage causes the calcium voltage gated ion channels to open allowing for an influx of calcium ions. </em>These calcium ions cause the acetylcholine vesicles  to release acetylcholine via exocytosis into the synaptic cleft.

Wernicke-korsakoff syndrome is associated with the decreased absorption and utilization of:______
Mariulka [41]

Wernicke-korsakoff syndrome is associated with the decreased absorption and utilization of thiamin. The correct answer is c. thiamin..

The neurological condition Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome is brought on by a lack of vitamin B1 (thiamin). There is no distinction between Korsakoff syndrome and Wernicke encephalopathy. The disease process is the same but at various stages. Both result from brain damage brought on by a deficiency in vitamin B1.

A prevalent deficiency in vitamin B1 is found in patients with alcohol use disorders. Additionally, it frequently affects persons whose bodies do not adequately absorb meals (malabsorption). This can occasionally happen after bariatric surgery or in conjunction with a chronic condition.

Following the disappearance of Wernicke encephalopathy symptoms, Korsakoff syndrome frequently appears. The thalamus and hypothalamus, two lower regions of the brain, are damaged as a result of Wernicke encephalopathy. Memory-related brain regions suffer permanent harm in people with Korsakoff syndrome.

Roman55 [17]
Correct answer - Digestives, urinary, reproductive tears and feces.

Why? - A cloaca is an orifice through which urine and feces are eliminated in birds, reptiles, amphibians, and a few branches of the mammal family tree. It also serves a reproductive function like the vagina in females of these species, and also performs the function of sperm ejaculation in males of some species.
