Antiduiretic hormone (ADH) is produced in the hypothalamus. ADH regulates the amount of water in the blood. When there is less water in the blood, this stimulates the hypothalamus to release ADH so as to conserve water. When the blood becomes dilute (end product), as in the example, ADH release is stopped by the hypothalamus to prevent further dilution of the blood.
