South America is a continent that has a steady rise in its population. It has around 415 million people and if the trend of rise continues, very quickly the continent will reach the mark of half a billion people.
The biggest, and also the most populous country in South America is Brazil. Brazil has an estimated population of around 209 million people, and it is growing population. Brazil's population accounts for approximately half of the population on the continent.
