An adjective always describes and clarifies a noun.
Ex: Bag is a noun. <em>Pretty</em> is an <em>adjective</em>. A <em>pretty</em> bag.
A pronoun takes the place of a noun.
Ex: The boy is sick. <u><em>Boy</em></u> is a noun. You can write this instead using a pronoun "He".
He is sick.
A conjunction links nouns.
Ex: <u><em>BUT</em></u> is a conjunction.
Her essay was interesting. It was too long. This can be written as " <em>Her essay was interesting </em><u><em>BUT</em></u><em> it was too long.</em>
Prepositions link nouns, pronouns and phrases to other words in a sentence
Ex: She was standing<u><em> between</em></u> the two streetlights.
Adverbs modifies adjectives or verbs.
It usually ends with <u>"ly"</u>
Ex: <em><u>Beautifully.</u></em>
Sam sang a song.
He sang it <u><em>beautifully</em></u>.
