What happened during the feast of lupercalia when the men drew the woman's names?

They were coupled together for at least the rest of the festival. 

Lupercalia is a Roman festival believed to be the origins of the modern day Valentine's Day. The festival contained rituals and sacrifice followed by the drawing of women's names by men. The man and woman would couple through the remainder of the festival. Some couples would continue the relationship through the year. There were even cases of the couples getting married.

<span>By doing this, the men were guaranteed “favors” from the women.  This is an interesting custom wherein Roman girls wrote their names on a piece of paper and placed into the jars.  Each man drew out a girl’s name from the jar.  The man will then be paired with the girl throughout the celebration of Lupercalia.</span>
