Write the equation of the sphere in standard form. x2 + y2 + z2 + 8x − 6y + 4z + 20 = 0
Nuetrik [128]

Answer:

(x+4)^2 + (y-3)^2 + (z+2)^2 - 3^2 = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

You have to find a, b, c, r so that the polynomial expands to match the given equation.

(x-a)^2 + (y-b)^2 + (z-c)^2 - r^2 =\\x^2-2ax+a^2+\\y^2-2by+b^2+\\z^2-2cz+c^2-r^2 =\\ x^2 + y^2 + z^2 + 8x - 6y + 4z + 20

(a^2+b^2+c^2-r^2-20)+\\x(-8-2a)+y(6-2b)+z(-4-2c)=0

-8-2a=0, 6-2b=0, -4-2c=0\\a=-4, b=3, c=-2

(-4)^2+3^2+(-2)^2-r^2-20 = 0

16+9+4-20=r^2

r^2=9

r=3

(x+4)^2 + (y-3)^2 + (z+2)^2 - 3^2 = 0

A survey shows that the probability that an employee gets placed in a suitable job is 0.65. A psychometric test consultant claim
fgiga [73]

Answer:

A survey shows that the probability that an employee gets placed in a suitable job is 0.65.

So, the probability he is in the wrong job is 0.35.

The test has an accuracy rate of 70%.

So, the probability that the test is inaccurate is 0.3.

Thus, the probability that someone is in the right job and the test predicts it wrong is 0.65\times0.3=0.195

The probability that someone is in the wrong job and the test is right is 0.35\times0.7=0.245

Why is 1/6 greater than 1/8 but less than 1/3
mina [271]
I would show it in decimals. Seeing it to show how close it is to one would make it a lot easier- 1/6= .16. 1/8=.125 and 1/3=.33 So looking at the decimals you can see how one would be bigger than the other
