What impact did the lack of dma have on multiprogramming?

History
1 answer:
k0ka [10]3 years ago

The CPU would have to wait for the i/o to finish before it can proceed to another process. Although the CPU allowed multiple programs to run, they had to be run in sequence. This could cause a pileup because one process had to be completed before another one could be started. Without DMA, the purpose of mutiprogramming is defeated.

What was the powhatan confederacy and how did this group interact with the british settlers
slava [35]
The Powhatan Confederacy was a group of different Native American tribes who lived in Virginia. This group generally had tense interactions with the British settlers, because the British settlers believed that the Powhatan Confederacy owed it to them to help them with the food supply, as the British settlers had trouble having sufficient food for their community.
