Answer:

16 - 2\frac{1}{4} + 2\frac{1}{2}

make all the denominator by 4

so,

\frac{64}{4} -\frac{9}{4} + \frac{10}{4} \\\\= \frac{65}{4} \\\\= 16\frac{1}{4}

Number of batches of jam that Jim can make is 6

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Step 1:

Find the remaining quarts of berries left with Jim after saving for eating.

Total quarts of berries = 16

Number of quarts saved to eat = 2 1/2 = 5/2

Remaining quarts = 16 - 5/2 = 32-5/2 = 27/2

Step 2:

Find the number of batches that can be prepared.

Number of quarts required to make a batch of jam = 2 1/4 = 9/4

Quarts that can be used for making jam = 27/2

Number of batches that can be made = Quarts that can be used/Required quarts

⇒ Number of batches = 27/2 ÷ 9/4

                                     = 27/2 × 4/9  (∵ a ÷ b = a × 1/b)

                                     = 3 × 2 = 6

Faelyn noticed that she does not have a common factor. Which accurately describes what Faelyn should do next?
Jlenok [28]
Without knowing what Faelyn has done so far or what she is working with, the second selection seems appropriate.

6x^4 -5x^2 -4
= (6x^4 +3x^2) -(8x^2 +4)
= 3x^2*(2x^2 +1) -4(2x^2 +1)
= (3x^2 -4)(2x^2 +1)

60d+65n=2800<br> 50d+45n=2150
Bad White [126]
From the second equation we can find that d=43-(9/10)*n
we can put this equation into the first one,
So we have equation 60(43-(9/10)*n)+65n=2800
Solving that we get n=20
60d+65*20=2800
d=25

So the answer is d=25 and n=20

Write an absolute value equation to satisfy the given solution set shown on a number line.
aivan3 [116]

Answer: IX - 4I ≤ 4

Step-by-step explanation:

In the numer line we can see that our possible values of x are in the range:

0 ≤ x ≤ 8

And we want to find an absolute value equation such that this set is the set of possible solutions.

An example can be:

IX - 4I ≤ 4

To construct this, we first find the midpoint M of our set, in this case is 4.

Then we write:

Ix - MI  ≤ IMI

Notice that i am using the minor and equal sign, this is because the black dots means that the values x = 0 and x = 8 are included, if the dots were empty dots, it would be an open set and we should use the <  > signs.
