Imagine you are investigating the case of a young man who seems not to respond to stressful situations the same way most people
anzhelika [568]

Answer:

The answer of the human body to stress, and stressful situations, including to conditions that may trigger the stress response of the body, is a pretty complex one involving the nervous system as a whole, and the adrenal glands, which are responsible for producing two of the most important stress-related hormones. These hormones: glucocorticoids and corticoids (cortisol), will in turn affect all body systems in different manners to produce the necessary effects, to respond to the perceived "threat".

In essence, we have a pathway from our brains, to our adrenal glands, known as the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. In this axis, several genes that are geared towards stress responses activate (CRHR1 and CRHR2, among others) and produce CRH (Corticotropic releasing hormone), which in turn is directly related with stimulating the production of cortisol when there is stress. However, because our bodies are not meant to be in a constant state of alertness and preparation, because the different organs of the body are negatively affected, there are also pathways that will turn off this response and lower the stressful production of cortisol.

In this particular person, although he has been exposed to the same stressor as the others, he does not have precisely the same reactions to it as the others. It is important to note one thing here, and that is, that the stressor offered to these people were videos of stressful situations, and what is known about the stress response is that one vital part of it is visual exposure to different factors, including light, and images. These exposures cause the HPA axis to initiate a response through CRH production. However, it seems that in this young man, although most of the responses are present, not all of them are. So one solution could be that he has a mutation in his genes in his HPA axis, and therefore CRH is not being produced in enought levels to stimulate sufficient levels of cortisol production. However, there are also other genetical reasons why, and these could be many.

Blue whales have 44 chromosomes in every cell. determine how many chromosomes you would expect to find in the following:Sperm ce
baherus [9]

Sperm cell: We expect to find 22 chromosomes.

The spermatozoon is a small cell (5 micrometers in diameter), much smaller than the ovum, but with a movable tail (a flagellum) 60 micrometers long. To be lightweight and mobile, to quickly reach the egg, the sperm gains space by minimizing its cytoplasm and compacting its DNA. Head is covered with the acrosome, a pocket full of enzymes that will be used to pierce the membrane of the egg.

It is a haploid cell because it contains half of the genetic material of the individual, lost at the time of meiosis during the process of spermatogenesis that the primordial germ cells undergo in the seminiferous tubules of the testes.

Egg Cell: We expect to find 22 chromosomes.

The egg is the sexual cell (or gamete) produced by the females of the animals.

Like all gametes, the egg is haploid, it contains half of the chromosomes of the future embryo, so the number of chromosomes will be 22 instead of 44. Then this egg will meet a sperm cell to gather their chromosome and form an embryo of 44 chromosomes.

Daughter Cell from Mitosis: We expect to find 44 chromosomes.

Mitosis, which ensures the birth of cells identical to the mother cell during asexual multiplication (so the number of chromosomes will remain the same, it will not divide in two).

Mitosis is an asexual cell division. This means that it is just a division of a mother cell into two daughter cells, which will inherit exactly the same genetic inheritance.

Daughter Cell from Meiosis II: We expect to find 22 chromosomes.

Meiosis is a particular mode of division of the living cell by which an initial cell with 2n chromosomes (in this case 2n = 44 chromosomes), a diploid stage, gives rise to four daughter cells possessing only n chromosomes, a haploid stage (n = 22 chromosomes). Meiosis is one of the forms of cell reproduction, this process is performed on the gonads to produce gametes.

Masteriza [31]

The question was incomplete as the diagram was missing, however, the correct diagram is attached with the answer -

Answer:

The correct answer is - scale

Explanation:

The thermometer used to measure temperature by comparison of the object or the parameter of the temperature to measure, with a calibrated pattern that is called scale.

A Thermometer has two scales on both left and right side: degrees Celsius on the left and degrees Fahrenheit on the right.

As given in diagram label with "A'' in a circle on the left side is The degrees of the scale.
