Complete Question

The complete question is shown on the first uploaded image

Answer:

The mean of p is \mu = 0.5

The standard deviation is  \sigma = 0.025

The probability is  P(p \ge 0.52) = 0.2119

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question

        The proportion of those with IQ over 100 is  p

        The selected sample is  n =400

From the question the mean is of p is

              \mu = 0.50

The standard deviation is

             \sigma  = \sqrt{\frac{p(1-p)}{n} }

                 = \sqrt{\frac{0.5 *0.5}{400} }

                = 0.025

We are asked to determine

      P(\r p \ge 0.52)

By applying normal approximation

    P(\= p \ge 0.52 )    →    P(Z \ge z)

Where  z = \frac{x - \mu}{\sigma}

          z = \frac{0.52-0.5}{0.025}

             = 0.6

  So the the probability is

 P(Z \ge 0.8)

We can also look at this probability in this manner

                   P(Z \ge 0.8) = 1- P(Z < 0.8)

From the z table z value of 0.8 is  0.78814

                                      P(Z \ge 0.6)=1- 0.78814

                                                         = 0.2119

Since, the fundraiser only have three prices for books($2, $5 and $10), the number of $5 book that was sold is 12.

<h3>How to form equation and solve ?</h3>

The fundraiser only have 3 prices for books which are $2, $5 and $10.

There were 6 more $5 books sold than $10 books sold.

Let

x = number of $10 book sold

Therefore,

number of  $5 books sold = x + 6

There are 8 more $2 book sold than $10 book sold. Therefore,

number of  $2 books sold = x + 8

A total of $250 was raised.

Therefore, the total amount sold forms the following equation:

10x + 5(x + 6) + 2(x + 8) = 250

10x + 5x + 30 + 2x + 16 = 250

17x = 250 - 30 - 16

17x  = 204

x = 204 / 17

x = 12

Paolo and Monika are both travelling by train.
Sauron [17]

Answer:

32 km/hr

Step-by-step explanation:

Firstly, you need to find the speed of both trains in km/hr.

Paolo's train= (70km x 60hr)/35= 120 km/hr

Monika's train= 684km/4.5hr= 152 km/hr

Then find the difference in speed:

152-120=32 km/hr

The current size of an image on Sandy's computer is shown below:
marusya05 [52]
Hello!

From our given picture, we have the dimensions 4 and 6; the length and width.
Let's take a look at our question. "What are the dimensions of the image at fraction \frac{1}{2} times its current size?"
This question is asking for what would be the dimensions if we set our scale factor as 2:1 (Original to New), so let's divide our dimensions by 2 (or multiply by 0.5 - either works).

6 / 2 = 3 (Width)
4 / 2 = 2 (Length)

Our new dimensions are 3 for the width and 2 for the length.

Answer choice "<span>D. Length = 2 inches, width = 3 inches</span><span>" fits our concluded answer; therefore, the answer choice is "D.)"

I hope this helps!</span>
