but \frac{6}{4} = \frac{3}{2} ← a rational number

An integer is a number like: 6, -4, 0, -100
(No decimals)

Let’s do some examples:
1. 8/2=4
In this case, an integer divided by an integer is an integer.
2. 5/3=1.6 repeating
In this case, an integer divided by an integer is NOT an integer.
