Thomas Hobbes- “Leviathan”

Thomas Hobbes' “Leviathan” is a book which is derived from the biblical Leviathan. Hobbes takes about an undivided form of government which can curb the civil war and the brutal situation of the time.


Samuel Johnson- “A Dictionary of the English Language”

Samuel Johnson wrote one of the earliest dictionaries in the History of English language which is named as “A Dictionary of the English Language.” it included the history of language, use of grammar and many words with their vocabulary and meanings.


John Locke- “ Second Treatise on Government”

In “Second Treatise on Government” Locke's argument is that people are free and equal. In their natural state people are free from the control of the state.  


John Dryden- “Annus Mirabilis”

John Dryden wrote the poem “Annus Mirabilis” in 1667. the poem is about the 1665- 1666  which he declares to be a miracle year. It was in the same year that the Great Fire of London broke out. Dryden does not talk about the tragedy that came on London, rather he talked about the fire which at least stopped and the London was saved.
