Explanation:

What role does Zeus play in the values and cultures of modern-day society?

Greek mythology dates to 3000-1100 BCE. Greek mythology was formed to create answers for unknown phenomena. These beliefs continued to be formed around Greek values and culture. Easily one of the most well-known figures that have come out of these beliefs is Zeus. Zeus is the most recognized god in Greek mythology because he is known as a hero who rules over the rest of the gods and the most powerful. Zeus also greatly influenced practices and culture.

The tale of Zeus originated from another god called Chronos. Chronos and Rhea gave birth to six children. The day before their birth Chronos had a vision that his children would band together and overthrow him. Desperate to remain in control after the children’s birth Chronos swallowed each and everyone of them, or so he thought. Rhea saved Zeus and sent him off to be raised by a nymph. Zeus was raised in secrecy and eventually learned of his father’s treacherous actions. Once Zeus was fully grown and powerful, he knew he needed to save his siblings. Zeus knew the task would be difficult, but he continued until he reached Chronos. Once Chronos was faced by Zeus he was forced to release the other children. Once the other children were released, they were furious. Banned together the children overthrew their father. Zeus was named the ruler of Olympus.

Zeus is an intricate part in Greek culture. Once Zeus was in power, he was able to choose what happened to the humans, he would control seasons, crop growth, punishments and rewards. This played a huge role in the culture, most scrambled to please him. As time went on people started traditions believed to please the gods. Certain things were forbidden in fear of outlash from the gods. There is one ancient Greek superstition is completely interwoven into modern Greek society. Generations upon generations have passed down the belief of the evil eye, or “Mati.” This symbol is said to ward off evil spirits and was originally presented because of a god’s gift. This is a huge influence that dates to about two-hundred years after the origination of the belief, this is still a well known and used symbol today. Rules and regulations also revolved around the gods wishes.

The Greeks believe that if they did anything against traditional morals and traditions they would be punished. Some of these punishments included losing crops, low fish intake from sailors, low hunting production, animals going missing and people dying. This led to deeply rooted beliefs. Some people still pass down these beliefs and traditions. Values such as hospitalities, intelligence, and loyalty are the most known. Hospitality related to Zeus and the nymph who took him in and raised him. Intelligence is a huge component in most folklore but especially Zeus’s case, he had to devise an incredible plan to save his family and Olympus. Loyalty is a large component in Greece. During rough times, the main lesson or objective was to stay together and support your family and close friends. This plays a huge role in Greece during the many battles and phases they went through.

Taking everything into account, Zeus and the folklore that accompanies his name, plays a he role in beliefs and culture of modern days. Dating back to 3000-1100 BCE all the way to modern times values, beliefs, and traditions have been adapting and staying with people. So the god, Zeus has shown Greece light for most of its existence, leading it through many challenges and guiding its way to the now modern Greece.

Answer:

                                                ZEUS

Zeus in Greek mythology is regarded as the god of thunder and king of Mount Olympus. He is also the chief of other gods and assigned roles to them. He was greatly revered that even children not sired by him call him "Father" and other gods rise in his presence.

Zeus is the child of Cronus and Rhea. When he was born, his father sought to swallow him as he did to his other siblings to avert the prophecyv made that his child would overthrow him just as he did to his father Uranus. However, Rhea deceived Cronus and gave him a piece of rock disguised as a baby which Cronus swallowed.

When Zeus attained manhood, he made Cronus disgorge his swallowed siblings in reverse order by which they were swallowed. He also freed Cronus' brothers Hecatonchires and the Cyclopes who were locked away. As a token of their appreciation, they gave him thunder.

As a fulfillment of the prophecy, Zeus and the other titans overthrew Cronus in a battle known as the Titanomachy.

Which two moods are used for situations that are contrary to fact or for the conditions under which a situation might occur?
Gennadij [26K]

Situations that are contrary to fact, the mood is the conditional: third type. Example: If she had got up early, she would not have missed the bus. This example illustrates an imaginary situation; it did not happen. What truly happened was that the woman got up late and missed the bus. This was the fact. The structure is : the condition introduced by "if" carries the Past Perfect and the imaginary result carries would + perfect infinitive.

Conditions under which a situation might occur, the mood is the conditional: second type. Example: If she bought an alarm clock, she would get up on time. This statement reflects a possible solution to a problem; it is a speculative solution. She does not have an alarm clock, yet if she bought one . This is the subjunctive mood . What would the result be? She would get up on time. This is the conditional mood , second type.

I need some simple example of a hardships in a family !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'!!!
Monica [59]
A family is composed of persons related by blood. As a family, it is inevitable not to experience hardships and struggles. Some examples of these hardships are misunderstanding due to miscommunication. Family members tend to get involved in conflicts because they fail to communicate thus they fail to understand. Individual differences can be a reason because though family members are related by blood it does not guarantee that everyone shall understand everybody because everybody's unique. Financial instability is also another hardship that is commonly experience within a family.
