What does the creation of a welfare state say about the changing priorities of the United States? Does this principle still hold today? give examples to support your answer.

Well it means that the economic problems there have greatly affected the quality of life in the U.S.  Government now has to implement programs that will help assist people during these difficult times.  A good example of this would in healthcare where the government provides healthcare services for all so that they can gain access to healthcare benefits without any difficulty.
