At the mexico Olympics, tom and john carlos raised their infamous black fist in order to show the public the effect of the white racists on the black people as they didn't have money, jobs, education or even shelter.

no shoes = poverty

scarf = unemployment

mexico Olympics, had tommy smith and john carlos, two black athletes gave the black fist/ black power salute during the medal ceremony.

they were both suspended from doing any further participation in the Olympics.

black power = black fist = riots broke out = athletes received threats from kkk and white supremacists and others = threatened to lynch

What motives did the two superpowers have for fighting surrogate wars
Ber [7]
"Surrogate wars" also known as "proxy wars" are wars fought in a third country. The US and the Soviet Union were fighting each other in, for example, Afghanistan and Vietnam.

They preferred proxy wars, because they came without civilian victims of  own population and without  a distraction of the infrastructure of their own countries. In short, the two powers could compete militarily with each other without suffering the worst effects of the wars - this situation allowed them to try to defeat the other one without much risk to their own population.

Do you think laws banning the sale of violent video games to kids violate the u.s. constitution? why or why not ?
Yanka [14]
Sure, violent games can influence some kids, but taking away things that a child likes is like taking away their identity and what they like to do. Some might say, "Oh, they can find others," but it can't be assumed that whoever plays a violent game is going to become a killer. And why should the law ban enjoyment?
