Mathematics
1 answer:

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

let the eq. of circle be x²+y²+2gx+2fy+c=0  ...(1)

∵ it passes through (-1,2),(4,2),(-3,4)

∴ (-1)²+2²-2g+4f+c=0

-2g+4f+c=-5   ...(2)

4²+2²+8g+4f+c=0

8g+4f+c=-20  ...(3)

(-3)²+4²-6g+8f+c=0

-6g+8f+c=-25  ...(4)

(3)-(2) gives

10 g=15

2g=3

g=3/2

(3)-(4) gives

14 g-4f=5

14×(3/2)-4f=5

-4f=5-21=-16

f=4

from (2)

-2(3/2)+4×4+c=-5

-3+16+c=-5

c=-5-13

c=-18

so eq. of circle is

x²+y²+2(3/2)x+2(4)y-18=0

x²+y²+3x+8y-18=0

Step-by-step explanation:

Finding ratio of of the number of girls  students on the  team to the number of students trying

Total girls who tried = 28

No of girls selected in team = 12

Ratio =\frac{12}{28}\\=\frac{6}{14}\\=\frac{3}{7}

Finding ratio of of the number of boys students on the  team to the number of students trying

Total Boys who tried = 30

No of boys selected in team = 15

Ratio = \frac{15}{30}\\=\frac{1}{2}
