Mel - So this is purely in theory, right?

If you were my kid, I'd ask you how much the shoes were. I actually ask myself a similar question when I get asked to buy a combo- if I want a burger and drink, they'll ask if I want fries. It would literally cost me like .10 for the fries. I won't eat them but I can give them to a student or something so, sure, I'll get the combo.

Does that make any kind of sense?

Answer:

The probability of picking a purple marble and spinning green is \frac{3}{28}.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since there are 7 marbles and 8 possible tiles to spin, the total amount of possible outcomes are 56. Out of the 56 different outcomes, 6 of them meet the requirement of picking a purple marble and spinning green, so the fraction to represent the situation is \frac{6}{56} or \frac{3}{28}.
