The popularity of modern sports has created an impact on many world issues including economics and mass media. As it is highly publicized, it has become an entertainment method that sprung plenty of business opportunities. Sports, along with political agencies, attempt to define not only the ethics and values among athletes but also of society as whole. It tackles issues of racism, sexism and classism. Spectators when viewing an athlete would bestow upon him/her qualities that an athlete is expected to have, along with his/her attributes. In this way, sports has put to light the mentality and culture of its society.
