Answer:

x^4- x^3- 4x^2-3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

f(x)= x^4- x^2+9

And

g(x)= x^(3 )+ 3x^2+12

We have to find

(f-g)(x)= ?

The operations on functions are as easy as the operations on numbers or polynomials.

We have to subtract the functions to find the above mentioned operation.

=(f-g)(x)=f(x)-g(x)

(f-g)(x)=[x^4- x^2+9]-[x^(3 )+ 3x^2+12]

The minus will change the signs of function g.

= x^4- x^2+9- x^(3 )- 3x^2-12

= x^4- x^3- x^2- 3x^2+9-12

=x^4- x^3- 4x^2-3

At a concession stand, five hot dog(s) and two hamburger(s) cost $11.75; two hot dog(s) and five hamburger(s) cost $11.00. Find
serg [7]

Answer:

x:hot dogs

y: hamburger

5x + 2y = 11.75

2x + 5y = 11.00

10x + 4y = 23.50

-10x - 25y = -55.00

-21y = -31.50

y = $1.50 each hamburger

2x + 5(1.50)= 11.00

2x + 7.50 = 11.00

2x = $3.50

x = $1.75 each hot dog

How do you solve for this ?
Iteru [2.4K]
G(x) is irrelevant in this so cross that out. First it's asking for f(4) so plug in 4 to the f(x) equation *f(x)= 4^2+1 = 17. then you square 17 so 17^2 is 289

Based on the information given the reason why

He/ She places a compass at different positions on a wall until the compass needle change to a direction was because the construction worker
