(HELP PLS) what is the equation for the line that is parallel to the line represented in the table below through (0,10)

bearing in mind that parallel lines have exactly the same slope, hmmmm what's the slope of the line on that table anyway?

well, let's just pick two points off the table to get that slope, say (5,6) and (11,18)

\bf (\stackrel{x_1}{5}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{6})\qquad (\stackrel{x_2}{11}~,~\stackrel{y_2}{18}) ~\hfill \stackrel{slope}{m}\implies \cfrac{\stackrel{rise} {\stackrel{y_2}{18}-\stackrel{y1}{6}}}{\underset{run} {\underset{x_2}{11}-\underset{x_1}{5}}}\implies \cfrac{12}{6}\implies 2

so we're really looking for the equation of a line whose slope is 2 and runs through (0,10),

\bf (\stackrel{x_1}{0}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{10})~\hspace{10em} \stackrel{slope}{m}\implies 2 \\\\\\ \begin{array}{|c|ll} \cline{1-1} \textit{point-slope form}\\ \cline{1-1} \\ y-y_1=m(x-x_1) \\\\ \cline{1-1} \end{array}\implies y-\stackrel{y_1}{10}=\stackrel{m}{2}(x-\stackrel{x_1}{0}) \\\\\\ y-10=2x\implies y=2x+10

The value of the expression would be 16.25 or 16 and 1/4, because when you multiply something by 1/2, you’re basically dividing it by 2, and when you put parentheses next to a number (for example 2(4) ), it means that you’re multiplying it, and when more than one values are in the parentheses, they all get multiplied, basically distributive property.

Only 9 members of the math club showed up for yesterday's meeting. This is only 20% of the total amount of members. How many tot
jek_recluse [69]

Answer:

There is a total of 45 members in the math club.

Step-by-step explanation:

What I did is I multiplied 9 by 5 and got 45. I multiplied 9 by 5 because the question stated that 9 students are 20%. 20% times 5 would be 100%, which would be the total number of students.

Hope this helped :)

Suppose the null hypothesis, H0, is: the mean age of the horses on a ranch is 6 years. What is the Type I error in this scenario
Morgarella [4.7K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

A type 1 error is committed when a true null hypothesis is rejected. Looking at the given scenario, given that the null hypothesis, H0 states is stated as follows:

The mean age of the horses on a ranch is 6 years, then a type 1 error would be made if the conclusion states that the mean age of the horses on a ranch is lesser or greater than 6 years when it is actually 6 years. Therefore, the correct option is

You cannot conclude that the mean age of the horses on a ranch is 6 years when, in fact, it is.
