We know that the last number on the second row is 5. What we need to know is how they got 5. We can...

The 8 on the first row is proportional to the 5 on the second row. For them to get 5 on the second row they multiplied the 8 by (5/8). I found that out by dividing the second number which was 8 by the first number which was 5.

So, 8 × (5/8) = 5. Since everything is proportional, we can multiply (5/8) to the other numbers on the first row to find out their numbers on the second row.

40 * (5/8) = 25

80 * (5/8) = 50

Those are the new numbers. If you have any questions then leave a comment. Good luck!

The ratio given is

40:80:8

The equivalent ratio is

? : ? : 5

In the first ratio, look at the number in the same position as the 5 in the second ratio and compare it to the other 2 numbers.  80 is 10 times 8, and 40 is 5 times 8.  Bring that same ratio down to the equivalent ratio...

5 x 10 = 50
5 x 5 = 25

The equivalent ratio is

25:50:5

B) Parallelogram JKLM is translated and then dilated
as well as c
C) Parallelogram JKLM is dilated and translated

C is the best answer because is size is changing. In all the others nothing is changing except the position which remains congruent and similar but C does not . The sizes changes which makes them not congruent but still similar.
