Answer:

D. Watching their children grow up is both exciting and stressful for parents.

Explanation:

According to the poem "To A Daughter Leaving Home", a mother is teaching her daughter how to ride a bike and she feels different emotions as her daughter goes through different stages of learning.

First, the mother is cautious as her eight year old daughter is learning, using two round wheels, then her emotions change to surprise and mild shock as her child speeds off with the bike out of her mother's reach. The mother is expecting to hear a crash as her inexperienced daughter is riding out of her watchful eyes, but her daughter is enjoying the experience and is laughing happily without a care in the world.

The theme of the poem is such that parents are both excited and stressed, watching their children grow, as the woman in the poem was excited and cautious about her daughter learning how to ride a bike and also scared when she bounced out of her reach and watchful eyes.
