Over the last 12 month, Petco has lost a total of $1824.00 due to shoplifting. Write and solve an equation that shows how much m

oney Petco lost each month. ( Since they have lost the money, remember that you need to use negative integers to represent the situation correctly.)

Take y=mx+b
let x=years and
y=lost money

then divide 1824 by 12 = 152
and since it is a loss make it into -152
and insert it for m as the constant rate of loss per month
your answer should be y=-152x.
if the store has a starting amount of money plug that into b.

To find the answer you have to divide the total by the number of months.
1,824.00 / 12 = 152

Therefore, Petco lost $152 dollars each month.

A certain company sends 40% of its overnight mail parcels by means of express mail service A1. Of these parcels, 4% arrive after
Harrizon [31]

Answer:

(a) The probability that a randomly selected parcel arrived late is 0.026.

(b) The probability that a parcel was late was being shipped through the overnight mail service A₁ is 0.615.

(c) The probability that a parcel was late was being shipped through the overnight mail service A₂ is 0.192.

(d) The probability that a parcel was late was being shipped through the overnight mail service A₃ is 0.192.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the tree diagram below.

(a)

The law of total probability sates that: P(A)=P(A|B)P(B)+P(A|B')P(B')

Use the law of total probability to determine the probability of a parcel being late.

P(L)=P(L|A_{1})P(A_{1})+P(L|A_{2})P(A_{2})+P(L|A_{3})P(A_{3})\\=(0.04\times0.40)+(0.01\times0.50)+(0.05\times0.10)\\=0.026

Thus, the probability that a randomly selected parcel arrived late is 0.026.

(b)

The conditional probability of an event A provided that another event B has already occurred is:

P(A|B)=\frac{P(B|A)P(A)}{P(B)}

Compute the probability that a parcel was late was being shipped through the overnight mail service A₁ as follows:

P(A_{1}|L)=\frac{P(L|A_{1})P(A_{1})}{P(L)} \\=\frac{0.04\times 0.40}{0.026} \\=0.615

Thus, the probability that a parcel was late was being shipped through the overnight mail service A₁ is 0.615.

(c)

Compute the probability that a parcel was late was being shipped through the overnight mail service A₂ as follows:

P(A_{2}|L)=\frac{P(L|A_{2})P(A_{2})}{P(L)} \\=\frac{0.01\times 0.50}{0.026} \\=0.192

Thus, the probability that a parcel was late was being shipped through the overnight mail service A₂ is 0.192.

(d)

Compute the probability that a parcel was late was being shipped through the overnight mail service A₂ as follows:

P(A_{3}|L)=\frac{P(L|A_{3})P(A_{3})}{P(L)} \\=\frac{0.05\times 0.10}{0.026} \\=0.192

Thus, the probability that a parcel was late was being shipped through the overnight mail service A₃ is 0.192.

Area= 2πr

So,

If you were to multiply the radius by 2 since 2 is not in the equations,

4*2= 8

8π ft^2 would be the correct answer.

I hope this helps!

Expand and simplify
coldgirl [10]

Answer:

A) -p + 38

B) k + 1

C) a_n = 4n + 1

D) a_n = 7n - 6

E) a_n = 14 - 4n

Step-by-step explanation:

A) 5(p + 6) - 2(3p + 4)

Multiply out the bracket to get;

5p + 30 - 6p + 8

>> -p + 38

B) 7(k - 2) - 3(2k - 5)

Multiply out the bracket to get;

>> 7k - 14 - 6k + 15

>> k + 1

C) Sequence is;

5, 9, 13, 17, 21

This is clearly an AP(arithmetic progression) because the difference between each term is 4.

Formula for nth term of an AP is;

a + (n - 1)d

Where d is difference and a is first term

Thus;

a_n = 5 + (n - 1)4

a_n = 5 + 4n - 4

a_n = 4n + 1

D) Sequence is 1, 8, 15, 22, 29.

This is also an AP.

Difference is 7.

Thus,nth term is;

a_n = 1 + (n - 1)7

a_n = 1 + 7n - 7

a_n = 7n - 6

E) 10, 6, 2, -2, -6

This is also an AP.

Difference is -4

Thus,

a_n = 10 + (n - 1)(-4)

a_n = 10 - 4n + 4

a_n = 14 - 4n

Find the surface area of the cone in terms of pi. 15cm 3cm
BaLLatris [955]

Answer:

The surface area of cone = 54π cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Given ;

Radius = 3 cm

slant height = 15cm

The surface area of cone = πr ( r + l )

=> π × 3 ( 3 + 15)

=> π × 3 ( 18)

=> 54 π cm²
