Answer:
1) What factors does Fallon suggest create psychopathic killers?
According to Fallon factors that lead to a pyschopathic killer are the interaction of genes which is known as epigenetic effect, the effect caused by the surrounding environment that the person might had been exposed to or have been exposed to which may damage the normal and logical function of his brain .
Fallon suggest damage occur to the following orbital cortex , the orbits and internal part of the temporal lobe; these are referred to as the MAO-A genes.
2) Where did Fallon see damage in the brain when he looked at the brains of psychopathic killers?
He saw that they have been damaged in their orbital cortex (above the eyes) , the orbit and the internal part of the temporal lobe.
3) What gene seems to be related to a higher propensity to violence? Why does he think that males may experience this more?
The MAO-A genes are considered responsible for a high propensity violence .
He thinks that this can be worse for a male due to the chromosomes that each gender receive from the parent females receive X chromosomes from both parents whilst male only has X chromosomes from their mother.
4) Which famous killer is Fallon related to?
Lizzie Bordon
Fallon argues that it is the combination of factors which creates psychopathic killers. Do you agree or disagree with this assessment? Why? Does the presence of a particular gene mean that someone will become a killer, according to Fallon?
I agree with Fallon's assessment because I truly believe someone can't be a pyschopathic killer based on just one thing , there are many factors that contribute from genes to the actual environment to the experiences that a person may go through as they grow up or even when there are old.
The presence of the MAO-A gene does increase the probability of someone to become a pyschopathic killer however it doesn't manifest itself unless a person goes through violence and traumatic events at some point in his or her life .
For example a person with these genes growing up in a home where there are major issues of abuse like for instance where they are beaten and tied up by ropes will have this pyschopathic side activated in him and especially if nobody rescues them in time.
