The Salzburgers were a group of German people that left their central European countries. They were protestants that decided to travel to the colony of Georgia, who founded the Ebenezer town in 1734. AS Protestants they were, they were forced to leave Salzburg, because that place was Catholic. So English King James II supported them to settle in the Georgia colony. The problem for the Salzburgers had been that the archbishop of Salzburg, Count Leopold of Firmian expulsed approximately 20,000 Protestants form their territories.
