Photosynthesis provides the ingredients for the mitochondria to perform cellular respiration. Cellular respiration then provides the ingredients needed to perform photosynthesis. And it goes on and on in a cycle

While water is broken down to form oxygen during photosynthesis, in cellular respiration oxygen is combined with hydrogen to form water.</span>
