Scientists use a system called binomial nomenclature to classify organisms. For example, the goldfish is known as Carassius aura

tus. Each of the two names has a different significance. Which of the following correctly describes the meaning of the two names? a. Carassius is a distant evolutionary ancestor of the goldfish, while auratus is a more recent species. b. Carassius is a group of organisms with similar behavior, while auratus is a group with similar structures. c. Carassius is a group of organisms with similar external structures, while auratus is a group with similar internal structures. d. Carassius is a group of different organisms with similar structures, while auratus is a smaller group of memebers that can only breed with another auratus.

The correct answer is: d. Carassius is a group of different organisms with similar structures, while auratus is a smaller group of memebers that can only breed with another auratus.

Carassius represents the name of genus. In binomial nomenclature it is the generic name shared by the group of close relatives. In this case, Carassius is a genus in the family of ray-finned fishes.

Auratus represents the species of the fish and it is specific unique epithet within the genus.

liubo4ka [24]

Answer:

1-4-2-3-5

Explanation:

The PDHC is made up of multiple copies of 3 different enzymes: pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH, E1: 20-30 copies), dihydrolipoamide S-acetyltransferase (DLAT, E2: 60 copies) and dehydrogenase dihydrolipoamide, (DLD, E3: 6 copies). The complex also requires five different coenzymes: CoA, NAD +, FAD +, lipoic, and thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP). Three of the complex coenzymes are closely linked to the complex enzymes (TPP, lipoic acid, and FAD +) and two are used as carriers of the products of PDHC activity (CoA and NAD +). The pathway for oxidation of PDH from pyruvate to acetyl-CoA is a diagram below.

Does a mom or dad ever give more DNA to a baby than the other parent? Why?
andreyandreev [35.5K]

The mother actually gives more DNA to a baby more than the father because of the little organelles, aka the mitochondria that live inside your cells are only to be received from your mother.

But in DNA, it can vary who's side you can get more of, and in some rare cases, equally. This is because dominant genes carry out around 75% of the time and genes that are recessive can carry out 25% of the time, depending on the genetics of both the mother and the father. Example, brown eyes are a dominant gene over blue eyes, so there is a 75% chance that the baby will have brown eyes and a 25% chance that the baby has blue eyes if one parent has the brown eye gene and one has the blue eye gene.

I hope this helped!! :D
