In this text Euchner presents a recollection of the anecdotes of more than 90 people present at the time of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech; famous now for the phrase "I have a dream." These anecdotes are heartfelt and personal for each of the witnesses.

1. The reason Euchner chose this group of people is because a good amount of them were involved in organizing the event and had a relation with the whole process of making it happen, not only in the logistics part, but also their involvement with the movement.

2. These people, because of their hard work and that involvement we mentioned knew the importance of the event, and understood the importance of the crowd that was present, they emphasized on how the crowd was a  fundamental part of this success. For years these people (the crowd) had been fighting for their rights, and the speech managed to summarize their feelings and it was in a way a form of redemption.

The best answer for this question would be:

The author’s wordings in the excerpt describe how his experience was during the Vietnam war, he was young but was afraid to face reality that his fellow comrades were dying in front of him. He describes how in stories people can be able to twist what had happened to them, on the other hand you could honestly tell them the true events that had happened.
