The following action occurs when the narrator “hears” the old man’s heart beating,although he has just killed him. The police are talking to the narrator and he hears the beating of the dead mans heart getting louder and louder.

Franklin promoted acceptance regarding the beliefs of the native Americans. On the other hand, Rowlandson’s view towards the native American people was negative.
