Read the excerpt about Poseidon’s underwater home from The Myths and Legends of Ancient Greece and Rome by E. M. Berens. This de

lightful abode was surrounded on all sides by wide fields, where there were whole groves of dark purple coralline, and tufts of beautiful scarlet-leaved plants, and sea-anemones of every tint. Here grew bright, pinky sea-weeds, mosses of all hues and shades, and tall grasses, which, growing upwards, formed emerald caves and grottoes such as the Nereides love, whilst fish of various kinds playfully darted in and out, in the full enjoyment of their native element. Nor was illumination wanting in this fairy-like region, which at night was lit up by the glow-worms of the deep. What does this excerpt reveal about the setting of this myth? the castle’s material riches the sea’s natural splendor the abundance of artwork the absence of activity

Answer:

The sea’s natural splendor.

Explanation:

E. M. Berens' <em>The Myths and Legends of Ancient Greece and Rome</em> presents an interesting insight into the world of the myths and legends that we know only through stories and fantasy movies. And in this text, he also provides an insight into the underwater home of the sea god Poseidon.

And in the excerpt, he describes the place as <em>"surrounded on all sides by wide fields, where there were whole groves of dark purple coralline, and tufts of beautiful scarlet-leaved plants, and sea-anemones of every tint"</em>. Moreover, there were<em> "bright, pinky sea-weeds, mosses of all hues and shades, and tall grasses,[....] fish of various kinds playfully darted in and out...</em>". Added to that <em>"fairy-like region"</em>, there was no need or shortage of light which is provided by<em> "the glow-worms of the deep"</em>. All these details <em><u>depict the sea's splendor and the ethereal-like place of the sea kingdom. </u></em>

9966 [12]

Answer:

A market for cats would have had a positive externality.

Because the cats would kill the rats on sight since that is their natural behavior.

However, it is interesting to mention, that the cat's killing has been more of a "mythic" aspect of this story, since it fails to take into account that since the black death was caused by the<em> yersinia pestis</em> bacteria, cats could have been also infected, and since their interactions with humans are greater than rats or fleas, the real outcome could have been totally unexpected.

Answer:

Cultivation theory examines the long-term effects of television.

The primary proposition of cultivation theory states that the more time people spend 'living' in the television world, the more likely they are to believe social reality aligns with reality portrayed on television. That means the reproduction of the same stereotypes that were find before in less channels began to grow to a point in which a person could easily surround him/herself in that reality.
