Evaluate $\dfrac{2\sqrt{72}}{\sqrt{8}+\sqrt{2}}$.
Pavlova-9 [17]
<h3>Answer:  4</h3>

========================================================

Work Shown:

\frac{2\sqrt{72}}{\sqrt{8}+\sqrt{2}}\\\\\frac{2\sqrt{36*2}}{\sqrt{4*2}+\sqrt{2}}\\\\\frac{2\sqrt{36}*\sqrt{2}}{\sqrt{4}*\sqrt{2}+\sqrt{2}}\\\\\frac{2*6*\sqrt{2}}{2*\sqrt{2}+\sqrt{2}}\\\\\frac{12\sqrt{2}}{2\sqrt{2}+\sqrt{2}}\\\\\frac{12\sqrt{2}}{3\sqrt{2}}\\\\\frac{12}{3}\\\\4

Note in step 2, I factored each number in the square root to pull out the largest perfect square factor. From there, I used the rule that \sqrt{A*B} = \sqrt{A}*\sqrt{B} to break up the roots.

lyudmila [28]

Answer:

B. The change in the total amount if money for every one additional ride she goes on

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

y = 26 + 1.5x, where,

y = total amount of money Eva will spend

x = number of rides Eva rides on

Thus,

Set price of admission into the amusement park = $26

Price per ride = $1.5

Therefore, the 1.5 I'm the equation can be said to be "the change in the total amount if money for every one additional ride she goes on".

Question 52 ptsWhat type of function is y - 5 = 5x? Explain.The function is linear because it can be written in the form y = mx
strojnjashka [21]

If a function can be written in y = mx + b form, it is linear.

The function given:

y-5=5x

Taking "5" to the right hand side, we get:

y=5x+5

This is in the form y = mx + b, with m = 5 and b = 5.

This is a linear function.
