Biology

Answer:

Explanation:

The genetic code was discovered by Nirenberg and German scientist Johann Matthaei, who were conducting a series of experiments to explore protein synthesis using synthetic RNA. They added RNA strands that contained only one of the four bases (A, U, G, or C) to a "cell-free system" and then added radioactively tagged amino acids.

Today, the genetic code provides important evidence for the common origin of life on earth, as it is a truly universal code that is shared by every organism, no matter how diverse.

What would happen if sister chromatids were not pulled apart at anaphase 2
olga nikolaevna [1]

Answer and Explanation: Nondisjunction occurs when sister chromatids are not pulled apart at anaphase II. This will cause both sister chromatids/ homologous chromosomes to be pulled to just one pole of the cell.

Since the anaphase I stage in Meiosis I occurred without errors, this would result in four haploid gametes being produced.

However, two of these gametes will be normal, will have the normal number of chromosomes. The other two gametes would have an abnormal number of chromosomes and be aneuploid. One would have n+1 number of chromosomes, and the other would be n-1.
