The math department faculty at a large university wanted to know what portion of the student body believes students should be ab

le to enroll in any math class without meeting a prerequisite. The statistics department offered to cooperate in conducting a survey, and a simple random sample of 500 students was selected from all the students enrolled in statistics classes. A survey form was sent by email to these 500 students and 236 responded. What is the population of interest for this study?

Answer:

The population of interest for this student is the students whom are enrolled in statistics classes.

Step-by-step explanation:

Sampling

This is a common statistics practice, when we want to study something from a population, we find a sample of this population.

For example:

I want to estimate the proportion of New York state residents who are Buffalo Bills fans. So i ask, lets say, 1000 randomly selected New York state residents wheter they are Buffalo Bills fans, and expand this to the entire population of New York State residents.

The population of interest are all residents of New York State.

A simple random sample of 500 students was selected from all the students enrolled in statistics classes.

This means that the population of interest for this student is the students whom are enrolled in statistics classes.

What is the dimensions of a box 8 cubic feet
Nesterboy [21]

You can't tell. The volume doesn't tell you the dimensions. It only tells you
what the product of the three dimensions is, but not what anyone of them is.
There are an infinite number of different possibilities.

Example: Volume = 8 cubic feet

The dimensions of the box could be

Length = 2-ft, Width = 2-ft, Height = 2-ft
or
1 x 1 x 8
or
1 x 2 x 4
or
1 x 3 x 2-2/3
or
1 x 5 x 1.6
or
1 x 6 x 1-1/3
or
1 x 7 x 1-1/7
or
2 x 3 x 1-1/3
or
2 x 5 x 0.8
or
2 x 6 x 2/3
or
2 x 7 x 4/7
or
2 x 8 x 1/2
.
.
etc.

A box holds 42 pieces of red construction paper and 18 pieces of blue construction paper. A piece of paper is pulled out of the
dimulka [17.4K]
First problem :
probability to draw a red paper : 42/(42+18)=7/10

In 110 tries one can thus expect to draw 7/10*110=77 red papers

Second problem :
Since for 150 trials (which will give the least error) we have got 135 yellow balls, we can expect twice as much in 300=150*2 trials, which makes 270 yellow balls.

Help picture below problem 18
Natali [406]

Solution :-

This triangle is a right angled triangle as we can see ∠POC, has a right angled sign. Now, we will assume the missing angle to be x, thus,

25° + 90° + x = 180° ( Angle sum property of a triangle )

115° + x = 180°

x = 180° - 115°

x = 65°

Thus, the measure of missing angle is 65°.

Hope that helps. :D
