Well first you multiply 5 times 3 which is 15 then you add 4 which is 19 and 19 times 3 is 57 57-5 is 52

If you have something like this, you should always do what's in the parentheses first.

Here is the order:

Parenthesis
Exponents
Division/multiplication
Addition/subtration

You'll always start inside of the parenthesis if there are any. So if you had 2 (7+3) -4, you would start by doing what's inside and have this left 2 (10) -4 (after that do it left to right)

Your question is 3(4+3•5)-5
We have to do (4+3•5) first.
REMEMBER THE ORDER - YOU MUST DO MULTIPLICATION AND DIVISION BEFORE ADDITION AND SUBTRATION.
So you will have this. (4+15)
Add as normal and you get 19.
Now we have 3(19)-5
You can already do this left to right.
Three times nineteen is 57, minus five 52.
Your answer: B

GiveN:

  • ABCD is a parallelogram.
  • AC and BD are the diagonals.
  • DE = 28 units

To FinD:

  • Value of x in length of BE?

Step-wise-Step Explanation:

We know that,

In any parallelogram, the diagonals (lines linking opposite corners) bisect each other. Then, AE = EC for diagonal AC and BE = DE for diagonal BD.

⇒ BE = DE

⇒ x - 4 = 28 units

⇒ x = 32 units

Hence, The required value of x here is <u>3</u><u>2</u><u> </u><u>units</u><u>.</u>

What is the value of w in the following formula when L=26 cm and p=80cm?<br> P=2l+2w
n200080 [17]

P=2L+2W

80=2*26+2W

so then you could find the missing number of W which is

W=14

35. For the following exercises, given each set of information, find a linear equation satisfying the conditions, if possible.
Montano1993 [528]

Answer:

The linear equation for the line which passes through the points given as (-2,8) and $(4,6), is written in the point-slope form as $y=-\frac{1}{3} x-\frac{26}{3}$.

Step-by-step explanation:

A condition is given that a line passes through the points whose coordinates are (-2,8) and (4,6).

It is asked to find the linear equation which satisfies the given condition.

Step 1 of 3

Determine the slope of the line.

The points through which the line passes are given as (-2,8) and (4,6). Next, the formula for the slope is given as,

$m=\frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}$

Substitute $6 \& 8$ for $y_{2}$ and $y_{1}$ respectively, and 4&-2 for $x_{2}$ and $x_{1}$ respectively in the above formula. Then simplify to get the slope as follows, $m=\frac{6-8}{4-(-2)}$

$$\begin{aligned}&m=\frac{-2}{6} \\&m=-\frac{1}{3}\end{aligned}$$

Step 2 of 3

Write the linear equation in point-slope form.

A linear equation in point slope form is given as,

$y-y_{1}=m\left(x-x_{1}\right)$

Substitute $-\frac{1}{3}$ for m,-2 for $x_{1}$, and 8 for $y_{1}$ in the above equation and simplify using the distributive property as follows, y-8=-\frac{1}{3}(x-(-2))$\\ $y-8=-\frac{1}{3}(x+2)$\\ $y-8=-\frac{1}{3} x-\frac{2}{3}$

Step 3 of 3

Simplify the equation further.

Add 8 on each side of the equation $y-8=-\frac{1}{3} x-\frac{2}{3}$, and simplify as follows, $y-8+8=-\frac{1}{3} x-\frac{2}{3}+8$

$y=-\frac{1}{3} x-\frac{2+24}{3}$$\\ $$y=-\frac{1}{3} x-\frac{26}{3}$$

This is the required linear equation.

Given the system
Irina-Kira [14]

we have

y > -2 x + y < 4

using a graph tool

see the attached figure

The shaded area is the solution of the system

<u>Part 1) </u>Name an ordered pair that is a solution to this system and explain how you know that this is a solution point

Let

A ( -40,20)

The point A is solution of the system because the point lie on the shaded area

<u>Check</u>

If the point A is solution of the system must satisfy both system inequalities

point A

x=-40

y=20

substitute

y > -2-------> 20 > -2-------> is ok

x + y < 4----> -40+20 < 4-----> -20 < 4-----> is ok

therefore

<u>the answer Part 1) is</u>

The point A is a solution of the system

Part 2) Name an ordered pair that is not a solution to the system and explain how you know that it is not a solution

Let

B(20,20)

The point B is not solution of the system because the point not lie on the shaded area

<u>Check</u>

If the point B is not solution of the system must not satisfy both system inequalities

point B

x=20

y=20

substitute

y > -2 -------> 20 > -2-------> is ok

x + y < 4---->20+20 < 4-----> 40 < 4------> is not ok

therefore

<u>the answer part 2) is</u>

The point B is not a solution to the system
