8 & 4 when you add them together it’s 12 and when you multiply then it’s 32. When you see sum in a problem it means add. When you see product in a problem it means multiply.

Step-by-step explanation:

We can do this either by looking at:

the bonds of 12, (of which there are 7 pairs)

(which pairs of numbers add up to 12?)

or the factors of 32 (of which there are 3 pairs)

Using the factors seems quicker.

Write the factors and in each find their sum.

As 12 is quite small in comparison to 32, I would expect that the middle factors will be the ones we want - they have the smallest sum and the smallest difference of all the pairs:

1×32

=32

1+32

=33

2×16

=32

2+16

=18

4×8

=32

4+8

=12

these are the ones we want.

In the diagram, angle 1 = 4x + 30, and angle 3 = 2x +48.
iragen [17]

Answer:

Since we have the information for Angles 1 and 3, and they are vertical, we can set them equal to each other. Once we have done this we can find the measures of them combined, and subtract it from 360 in order to only have the measure of 2 and its vertical angle. Finally, all we need to do now is divide the remaining measure by 2, and this will give us the measure of angle 2.

Angle 1=Angle 3

4x+30=2x+48

2x+30=48

2x=18

x=9

Angle 1=4(9)+30

Angle 1=36+30

Angle 1=66

Angle 1=Angle 3

Angle 1+ Angle 3=132

360-132=228

228/2=114

Angle 2= 114

Leah wants to find 450 + 416 using place value. Write the smaller problems she could use to find the sum. then find the sum.
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

866

Step-by-step explanation:

She could add the hundreds first: 400+400=800

Then the tens: 50+10=60

Then the ones: 0+6=6

And add them all up: 800+60+6=866

Alborosie

Answer: 8t+581

Step-by-step explanation:

<h3> The complete exercise is: "Omar works as a tutor for $15 an hour and as a waiter for $7 an hour. This month, he worked a combined total of 83 hours at his two jobs. Let "t" be the number of hours Omar worked as a tutor this month. Write an expression for the combined total dollar amount he earned this month."</h3><h3 />

Let be "t" the number of hours Omar worked as a tutor this month and "w" the number of hours Omar worked as a waiter this month.

Based on the data given in the exercise, you know that Omar worked a combined total of 83 hours this month.

Then, you can represent the number of hours he worked as a waiter this month with this equation:

w=83-t

Since he earns  $15 per hour working has a tutor and $7 per hour working as a waiter, you can write the following expresion to represent the total money earned:

15t+7w

Since w=83-t, you can substitute it into the expression and then simplify it in order to find the final expression that represents the total amount of money Omar earned this month.

This is:

15t+7(83-t)=15t+581-7t=8t+581

While walking between gates at an airport, you notice a child running along a moving walkway. Estimating that the child runs at
tekilochka [14]

The speed of the moving walkway relative to the airport terminal exists at 1.84 m/s.

<h3>How to estimate the speed of the moving walkway relative to the airport terminal?</h3>

Let x be the speed of the walkway.

(2.8 + x) = speed of child moving in direction of the walkway

(2.8 - x) =  speed of child moving against the direction of the walkway

Travel time = distance/speed

Travel time of child moving in direction of walkway = 23/(2.8+x)

Total elapsed time given = 29s

23/(2.8 + x)+ 23 / (2.8-x) = 29

LCD = (2.8 + x)(2.8 - x)

23(2.8 - x) + 23(2.8 + x) = 29(2.8 + x)(2.8 -x)

simplifying the equation, we get

23*2.8-23x+23*2.8+23x=29(2.8^2-x^2)

23(2.8+2.8)/29=2.8^2-x^2

x^2=(2.8)^2-(23*5.6)/29)=3.4

x=\sqrt{3.4}=1.84m/s

Speed of walkway = 1.84 m/s

The speed of the moving walkway relative to the airport terminal exists at 1.84 m/s.
