To solve equations, you want to isolate the X. So, the first step will be to distribute that 4 into the 2x + 1.
4 x 2 = 8
4 x 1 = 4              So we have 4(2x+1) = 8x+4. When we plug this into the equation, that gets us 8x + 4 - 2x = -8. Next, let's combine like terms now that we've distributed everything out. 8x - 2x = 6x. Now we have
6x + 4 = -8. Next, we subtract 4 from both sides to isolate the X;              6x = -8 - 4. -8 - 4  = -12. So now we have 6x = -12. The final step to isolating the X is to divide both sides by 6; 6/6 = 1, and -12/6 = -2. Our final answer is X = -2.

4(2x+1)-2x=-8
4x+4-2x=-8
6x+4=-8
subtract 4 on both sides
6x=-12
divide both sides by 6
x=-2

A ruby-throated hummingbird beats it’s wings about 53 times each second.About how many times does a ruby-throated hummingbird be
Tcecarenko [31]
Well you take 53 per second and you multiply 53 by 5

53 x 5 = ?

50 x 5 = 250

3 x 5 = 15

So your exact answer is 265... I also am not sure where you want it rounded to but if it was a default "round" I would say 250

If PQ=21 cm and QR=5cm, then what are the possible lengths for PR so that line PQ, line QR, and line PR can form a triangle? exp
Klio2033 [76]
We know that PQ is 21 cm and QR is 5 cm. There are only 2 possible answer for this and you use only one formula. It's called the Pythagorean theorem.

The first possible is this. If the hypotenuse(the longest side of a triangle) is PR, we do:
 a² + b² = c² ←Fill in the numbers
21² + 5² = c²
441 + 25 = c²
466 = c²
√466 = 21.12 cm←Possible length

The second possible is this:
5² + b² = 21²
25 + b² = 441
b² = 441 - 25
b² = 416
√416 = 20.4←Another possible answer

Math sucks helppppp pls
Archy [21]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter of the composite shape = ½ of the circumference of a circle + perimeter of a rectangle - Length of the rectangle

= ½*2πr + 2(L + W) - L

Where,

r = 8

π = 3.14

L = 16

W = 12

Perimeter of the composite shape = ½(2*3.14*8) + 2(16 + 12) - 16

= 25.12 + 56 - 16

Perimeter of the composite figure = 65.12 inches

Area of the composite figure = ½(πr²) + L*W

= ½(3.14*8²) + 16*12

= 100.48 + 192

Area = 292.48 square inches
