Almost got it!

x + 3 = 3(y + 2)/2 [Multiplied both sides by 3]
so x + 3 = (3y + 6)/2
2(x + 3) = 3y + 6 [Multiplied both sides by 2]
2x + 6 = 3y + 6
2x = 3y [Subtracted 6 from both sides]
x = 3y/2 [Divided both sides by 2]
x/3 = y/2 [Divided both sides by 3]

So you wrote y/3 instead of y/2
Hope this helped!

X + 3 = 3(y + 2)/2 therefore x + 3 = (3y + 6)/2 2(x + 3) = 3y + 6 2x + 6 = 3y + 62x = 3y x = 3y/2 x/3 = y/2

ANSWER: y/2
Hope this helps! Have a nice day!

Answer:

{x}^{2}  - 18x - 21

Step-by-step explanation:

{x}^{2}  + 3 - 6(3x + 4)

{x}^{2}  + 3 - 18x - 24

{x}^{2}  - 21 - 18x

The nearest million is 46 million since if the number to the right of "nearest so and so" is less than 5, you round down but if it is 5 or more then you round up.

Show that the following functions are probability density functions for some value of k and determine k. Then, determine the mea
lord [1]

Answer:

a) 17.5

b) 15.6

c) 13.3

d) 21.51

Step-by-step explanation:

The given function is equal to:

f(x)=kx^2

where

\int\limits^y_0 {kx^{2} } \, =1

where y=23

Clearing k=0.00025

a) Ex=\int\limits^y_0 {xf(x)} \, dx =\int\limits^y_0 {x*0.00025x^{2} } \, dx =17.5

b)Vx=Ex^{2} -(Ex)^{2} =\int\limits^y_0 {x^{2}f(x) } \, dx-17.5^{2}  =\int\limits^y_0 {x^{2} *0.00025x^{2} } \, dx -17.5^{2} =321.82-306.25=15.6

c) The function is equal to:

f(x)=k(1+2x)

\int\limits^y_0 {k(1+2x)} \, =1

where y=20

k=0.0024

Ex=\int\limits^y_0 {xf(x)} \, dx =\int\limits^y_0 {x*0.0024(1+2x)} \, dx =13.3

d) Vx=Ex^{2} -(Ex)^{2} =\int\limits^y_0 {x^{2} f(x)} \, dx -13.3^{2}=\int\limits^y_0 {x^{2} *0.0024(1+2x)} \, dx-13.3^{2}   =198.4-176.89=21.51

Aleksandr [31]

The histogram for the data is given at the end of this answer.

<h3>What is an histogram?</h3>

An histogram is a graph that shows the number of times each element of x was observed.

In this problem:

  • The elements of x are given by the time in hours.
  • The histogram shows the number of runners that finished the race in x hours.

Hence, the graph given at the end of this answer is the histogram.
