Are there organisms that can be abiotic and biotic?
Kipish [7]

Examples of abiotic factors are water, air, soil, sunlight, and minerals.Biotic factors are living or once-living organisms in the ecosystem.

Biotic describes a living component of an ecosystem; for example organisms, such as plants and animals.

Examples Water, light, wind, soil, humidity, minerals, gases.

Before replication can take place.(1) A. DNA polymerases must add complementary nucleotides to DNA. B. the two strands of DNA mu
andriy [413]

Answer:

The correct answer is B. the two strands of DNA must separate.

Explanation:

DNA is a double-stranded structure. The two strands are joined together by the formation of hydrogen bonds between complementary nucleotides. So before the replication takes place these two strands must be separated.

The separation of DNA strand is accomplished by the action of a helicase enzyme which breaks the hydrogen bond between complementary nucleotides and separated the two DNA strands.

After separation, the DNA polymerase binds to separated DNA and replicating the DNA. So the right answer is B.

In receptor-mediated endocytosis, which event occurs immediately after the fusion of coated vesicles with lysosomes that are fil
mixas84 [53]

The acidic environment of the lysosome and the lysosomal enzymes detach the ligands from their receptors.

Receptor-mediated endocytosis is a process in which cell surface receptors are employed for transporting substances such as proteins, hormones, and metabolites from extra-cellular matrix into the cells. Receptor-mediated endocytosis usually occurs through clathrin (a type of protein)-coated pits and vesicle and it allow only the receptor-specific substances to enter the cell. Under this process, molecule binds to protein receptors after which the receptor molecule moves to clathrin coated pits and vesicle. The cell membrane then folds inwards and there is fusion of a coated vesicle. After this, the ligands are detached from their receptors.

Before the forming urine flows into the distal tubule of the nephron, it is in the _____ ______ _____, where water is absorbed a
liraira [26]

Answer:

<em>"Before the forming urine flows into the distal tubule of the nephron, it is in the </em><em>loop of Henle</em><em>, where water is absorbed as the fluid descends into the deep medulla of the kidney, and salts are absorbed as the fluid flows back up to the cortex of the kidney".</em>

Explanation:

Henle´s loop is a specific section of renal tubules that forms the nephrons.

In this U-shaped region, the two parts of the contorted tubule, the distal and the proximal part, are very close to each other. In the kidney, both parts of the tubules are located in the renal cortex, while the loop of Henle is located within the renal medulla.

The proximal region of the Henle´s loop is a permeable region, unlike the proximal and distal regions of the renal tubule.

This is why it is possible the interchange of water and ions in the Henle´s loop. In the loop´s walls, cells present aquaporines in their membranes that allow passive water absorption, while they do not allow the transport of ions and urea. In this way 25% of the water that passes through the kidney might be filtered.

The ascendant side of the loop, which is narrower, the tubule wall is impermeable to water but allows the ions´reabsorption. Here, cells present sodium, potassium, and chloride channels.

Potassium sodium pump transporters are found in the basolateral zone. While in the apical area are active transporters of the 3 ions.

Due to these differences in the water and ions´absorption between the two parts of the Henle´s loop, a countercurrent multiplier effect is produced, stratifying the osmotic compounds of the medullary interstitium, being the part closest to the cortex less concentrated than the part closest to the renal papilla, which is about 4 times more concentrated in ions.
