The American work force grew in the 1800s because industrialization created new jobs. ... There were no child labor laws, factories needed as many workers as they could get, families needed as much money as they could get, and children had smaller fingers and hands, making them ideal for some more precise jobs.

vekshin1
The correct answer is increase in industrialization.

Due to the technological advancements of the mid-late 1800's, Americans started to rely more on industry rather than farming. Working in a factory rather than a farm had its perks. People who worked in a factory had guaranteed wages, whereas in farming the amount of money a person makes is dependent on several different factors like the amount of people who want to buy your products, climate, location, etc.

How did felix frankfurter stand on brown v. board of education?
andrew-mc [135]
The correct answer is Felix Frankfurter wanted to outlaw segregation, so he asked that the case be reargued so that he had time to convince more justices and build consensus

He believed that there was a need to solve it with "all deliberate speed" which means that desegregation had to be rapidly implemented and not dragged on. This plan of his backfired and the thing did drag on with many schools in the South waiting for as much as 15 years after the court decision before finally desegregating.
