The white umbrella is a book filled with romance and suspense. The main character, Amelia Donn is a pilot in the 1830's, exploring the new world of adulthood. She is astounded and ashamed of herself after she acts in ways she has never before. The plot unfolds along with her beginning to understand that shame is a horrible thing, and that shame should be destroyed. But, she also understands that she needs to accept shame and see how she should also learn to accept any shame that should come her way. The narrator sees how Amelia's life lessons help her in aldult hood and tells the reader that "I should take these lessons into account in my own life."

The symbol is the white umbrella, and it represents what the narrator wants to be, perfect, pure, etc. and that would mean that when she throws it away she is satisfied with the way she is now. The narrator is taught many lessons including acceptance. The narrator is taught acceptance because she regrets wishing Ms. Crosman was her mother. She also wanted to be part of American culture, and she was so embarrassed of her mother working. She was taught to accept things how they are in her life and be thankful for them because some people don’t have what she does.

using the achieve article "web site brings teens together-- 65 years later" answer the following question. Think about the news
geniusboy [140]

Answer:

Before reading the article, it is good to know that it is a self-help article, which talks about the importance of sharing feelings.

Explanation:

The article begins by talking about the meeting of two elderly people who were together in the Nazi concentration camps when they were teenagers. In this meeting they share the situations they went through during their confinement, in addition to talking about their feelings about it and about the life they currently have, establishing a strong friendship between them.

After describing the meeting of these gentlemen, the article lists the importance of expressing feelings when we go through a difficult situation. The article does this, showing as an example the family and friends of a girl who died and how expressing what they feel helps them to overcome the sadness of the loss. However, the title of the article does not give any hint that this topic will be discussed, so it would be good to know that part of the article before reading it.

The crow ate all of the cherries on her tree in passive voice
dexar [7]

Answer:

All of the cherries on her tree were eaten by the crow.

Explanation:

When using passive voice, the receiver of the action typically goes first and then the doer of the action is after it, as opposed to active voice when the doer of the action is first and then the receiver is afterwards. So, the receiver of the action is the cherries on the tree and the doer, or the thing that ate the cherries, is the crow.
