Johannes Kepler enunciated mathematical laws to explain planetary orbits. He studied the solar system and created the laws of planetary motion, known as Kepler's three laws.

René Descartes in the seventeenth century inaugurated the philosophy known as <em>rationalism</em>, it means that knowledge comes from reason. He affirmed that it is necessary to use the mathematics to understand, decipher and control the world because it is a set of quantifiable trajectories.
